My hobby is now gardening, personal computer,
painting, music and play. And my hobby was
photograph previously. I'll explain five
items in the table of contents more in detail.
1. Gardening
1.1 flowers
The flower is planted in the garden. As the
flower, the pansy, salvia and the begonia,
etc. I plant them in the pot or the planter,
etc.
One of my friends Mr. Kobayashi, who has
been living in Torigoe, started the cultivation
of large flower morning-glory and he got
the championship in Taitou ward several years
ago. He gives me the seed every year. I plant
about ten pots and distribut them to the
relative etc. . This year(1999), the seed
which had been bought for 5/23 in the nearby
do-it-yourself store was reeled. As the bud
came out to 5/27, and the seed leaf had opened,
I moved them to a small pot. 7/29 morning-glory
strted come out and I distributed to my relative
etc..
It is the happy one to bring up from the
seedling from the seed, and to look at a
beautiful flower.
1.2 plants
I have attended the prune course of the plant
which the ward sponsored for about two years
ago, and I started of the maintenance of
the garden tree of the parents' family etc..
There are the bases of the time of maintenance(for
the deciduous tree, it is January-March,
and for the evergreen April-June) and how
(the branches which crowded and internally
are to be cut), etc.. It is glad to see appearance
was straightened, and style became beautiful.
This end of year(1999) I made two mixed planting by chance. They may be plural small tree planting, Bonsai, or Ikebana in a pot. It is a new experience for me.
1) Christmas container ("Small garden or container garden" from "Convenient notebook of living [Asahi home convenient notebook by Asahi Shimbun Co. 1999.12 P.25]")
The Christmas container, printed in "Convenient notebook of the living" delivered once a month by Asahi Shimbun Co., was made(Please see the photo on the right).
The gold crest(about 40cm in height), colmunaris grauca(leaf like the Japanese cypress), mini-holly, spotted ivy, spotted poinsettia and cyclamens are planted in a round pot(32cm in diameter and 18cm height). The surface of the soil is covered with bark. It seems to have good external appearance, and there be an effect to prevent moisture from evaporating.
It is considerably serious to collect suitable plants. I couldn't provide suitable(kind and size) spotted poinsettia, so pink spotless one.
I planted them thinking about arrangement and the direction, etc.
As Christmas has passed, I changed the mini-holly to flower cabbage and the poinsettia to heavenly bamboo for the New Year.
2) Sho-chiku-bai[Pine, bamboo and plum tree](Ohta
ward park green land promotion public corporation)
I have drawn lots when having applied for
the training course recorded in the Ohta
ward report. This is the second time of the
training course of the Ohta ward park green
land promotion public corporation sponsoring
following the maintenance of planting . About
30 people gathered mainly elderly women.
The plum tree(about 40cm in height), the
pines, the bamboo grasses, heavenly bamboo
and the chrysanthemum are planted in a oval
pot(32x23x5cm). We plant them spending about
two time by the guidance of Ms. Miyata while
thinking about the direction of the entire
arrangement and the tree while taking a withering
leaf etc.
I made bonsai for the New Year enjoying.
We can borrow home farm in Ohta ward in where I'm living. There are many applicants, so I must hit the lot. This year(1999) I have applied after a long time and I have hit. I borrowed about 10mxm land about 5 minuts from my home on foot. I have planted potato, eggplant, the cucumber, the tomato, the radish, the carrot, the Welsh onion ginger, and beans.
1.5 Others
Weeding the lawn is serious until spring - autumn. It is serious though I only has to pull out the weed in diligent always when failing to take it once. The following grow again when I finishes pulling out even the edge.
