Peter Buck (R.E.M.) : They're great. They've saved their career by not making the
same record over and over again.
3D (Massive Attack) : Amongst all the shit, they're the one bright spot.
Adam Clayton (U2) : They're truly special. They're going to be making exciting
music for a longtime.
Nicky Wire (Manic Street Preachers) : I admire their enigma.
Fran Healy (Travis) : Kid A's more about patterns and melodies. They've become modern
classicalmusic.
Richard Ashcroft (ex-The Verve) : The record company know the band are the boss. Anyone who can
pull that off is already onto a winner. They've probably guaranteed
total artistic control for their next five albums.
Chris Martin (Coldplay) : When we won best band at the Brit Awards the first thing I
did was apologise to Ed O'Brien. They're amazing.
Jarvis Cocker (Pulp) : I really like them. They've made an effort to be different.
If they did thesame thing over again people would complain.
Frank Black (ex-Pixies) : I like them. I wish Colin, the singer... Thom? OK. I wish he
would pronounce his words a little bit more.
Ed Simons (The Chemical Brothers) : I feel like a bit of a Neanderthal, it's not really me. I'm
not hearing it really. Kid A was cool but it's not something I'd
listen to.
Sharleen Spiteri (Texas) : They're a very good band, but for fuck's sake, smile! I mean,
you're raking in people's cash.
Moby : I like them, but I wish they'd write more nice songs like High
And Dry
Kelly Jones (Stereophonics) : Certain bands get far too much attention and get treated as
God-like figures. It's just music, people should lighten up.
Macy Gray : I think their videos are cool.
Alanis Morissette : I love 'em. Had the pleasure of playing with them a few years
ago and they were lovely.
Slash (ex-Guns N'Roses) : They're OK, but I'm not a big fan.
Chuck D (Public Enemy) : I like them. They've always been great.
Paul Weller : I've liked some of their stuff - really adventurous. I haven't
heard their last two albums, but the one before, I thought there
was some good stuff on that.
