11/10/97 Mac says nothing!

 Grandpa played shogi (Japanese chess) with his
Mac. When he was about to save the record of a game of shogi, however, the
Mac made no response whatever. FREEZE! (It's a daily occurrence in Mac!)
Unfortunately, I was on my job and my husband traveled on business. Therefore,
Grandpa sent out an SOS to my daughters by phone. |

Oh my goodness! It's beyond my control..... Sister! Sister!! | |

Grandpa, reboot your Mac compulsorily on trial! You have to press three keys, that is, Control key, Command key and Power key. Do you know what I mean? | |
| However, even compulsorily-rebooting was no work. I called him after my
job was over. Finally, we decided to turn off the main switch of the Mac
(whichis the LAST RESORT). After a while, he turned on the main switch andpressed
the Power key, but the Mac was still silent..... We decided to turn off the WHOLE power, which led to a shocking accident!! |

| Thereafter, I tried to call him again and again, but there was no connecting
me with him. Grandpa had cut off the switch of a Terminal Adapter (TA). It was natural that the phone connected with the TA was also cut off. One hour later, Grandpa found out the phone interruption. He turned on the TA and then the phone recovered from the interruption. When he turned on the whole power after three hours, his Mac revived successfully and went well without accident. |
